Every wednesday: Sculpture workshop for children

Ateliersculpture_34zero

Every Wednesday afternoon, from 2 to 5 p.m., Atelier 34zero Muzeum holds open house for children between 6 and 12 years old and proposes workshops in three-dimensional perception and sculptural techniques.

The children are closely followed by a professional sculptor whose intention it is to guide them in function of their personality. As a result, this form of teaching is quite different from other socio-cultural activities generally offered to children.

 Objectives

  • Contact with different materials such as: wood, metal, clay, vegetation, synthetic materials, etc.
  • Acquaintance with tools: learn to understand and respect how tools function.
  • Meeting different kinds of artists: every six weeks an artist is invited to present what he does and to work with the children to let them discover different artistic approaches.
  • Create works on different themes such as: balance, the body, imprints (footprints, fingerprints, …) , weight of materials, play with light.
  • Interventions in public space, performances, unusual encounters.
  • Learning to recognise personal sensibilities.

The programme develops and is adapted according to the input and reactions of the children.

Practical aspects

Every Wednesday (except during school holidays), from 2 to 5 p.m., for children from 6 to 12 years.

The monthly participation fee is € 40 materials included. An annual insurance fee of € 10 is required from all participants.
